The uniformity of life: what is common to people, Bacteria, elephants and sweet peas‬‏? DNA - Molecules of life. How does DNA, the carrier of genetic information, make the creation of life possible?

The exhibition “Secrets of Life - DNA world”, introduces visitors to the wonders of genes and the magic behind that language of DNA, by providing them an experience of a colorful and fascinating journey into the human cell nucleus.
Among the main attractions in the exhibition is a model of a human cell nucleus, enlarged one million times and built in a shape of a dome. It has a diameter of 7 meters, it is 4.5 meter high, and has 46 “floating” chromosomes. Using light and sounds, visitors get to experience the powerful and unceasing gene activity. The crowd is invited to enjoy operating three dimensional sophisticated exhibits. Operating the exhibits demonstrates complex scientific subjects such as chromosomal duplication, the wonderful packing of DNA, copying genetic information and creating an imaginary animal by moving from the creature’s genetic ensemble to the creature’s structure.

Curator Dr. Livia Inbar: “This exhibition uses entertainment and fun in order to bring the visitors closer to understand the secrets of the genetic code of every living creature - the secrets of life. We all should take part in the wonderful journey into the depths of modern science and biology, in order to be able to deal with the challenges of the third Millennium.”
