MadaTech, the National Museum of Science Technology and Space was founded with assistance of the Recanati family, in memory of Daniel and Mathilde Recanati.
Daniel Recanati was born in Saloniki in 1921. He arrived with his family to Israel in 1935 and passed away at Tel Aviv in 1984. Recanati was the head of the Discount bank group (founded by his father, Leon Recanati) for over 25 years, significantly contributing to the bank’s development and advancement. Recanati was multifarious and initiative. He contributed greatly to the Israeli economy: promoting banks, developing industries and technology and also promoting higher education in Israel. | |
Mathilde Recanati, of house Karaso, was born in Tel Aviv in 1927 and passed away in 1986. She worked to promote health and nursing institutions. She dedicated time and effort in ongoing community work in Israel. |
