Netrix, the national center for innovative internet technologies and exhibits is now open to the public!

After much expectation, The Netrix Center - in memory of Dr. Gershon Lichtman was inaugurated on Monday, January 19th, in a festive and exciting ceremony at Madatech – Israel's National Museum of Science, Technology and Space in Haifa.

The Netrix Center was established by the Lichtman Family, in memory of Dr. Gershon Lichtman, and is an integral part of Madatech. The center is operated in association with Startupsides Company, which is Madatech's subsidiary for facilitating youth technological entrepreneur and excellence in initiating and developing new ventures in the internet field.
Hi-Tech directors conducted a symposium, discussing "the technological future reflected through the internet" with Startupsides youth – young internet entrepreneurs, at the Netrix launching event.

Elisha Yanai, Motorola Israel C.E.O anticipates that in the future, technology will focus on location based services that will be able to identify your position and find you a matching setting accordingly.
Moshe Lichtman, Microsoft Israel Research and Development president added that we should expect further technological breakthrough of stepping forward to "sound identification", which will save us the need to type and instead, we will use verbal communication for executing different tasks by our computer.
Leon Recanati, Co-Chairman at Madatech, who hosted participants with Dr. Ronen Mir, Madatech's C.E.O, indicated that the internet has become a global place where people connect, thus reducing mentality and geographical gaps between people in general, and between Israelis and the neighboring countries in particular.
Startupsides Youth emphasized the significance of technological education at a young age and the importance of the net's force to influence social change. They also expressed a sincere hope that in the future, people will be able to operate their computer by force of thought…
The event also hosted Dr. Yossi Vardi, Paul Feigen, Technion's vice president and Igal and Michal Lichtman, whose kind donation allowed the establishment of the Netrix Center - in memory of Dr. Gershon Lichtman.
