Further to the first conference held on Sukkoth, the second conference will be held at Madatech on Hanukkah, Dec. 29th, 2008.
The conference’s objective is promoting community awareness for green energy, educating for environmental care, and enhancing the use of uncontaminated renewable energy sources.
The conference aims at making a difference in our environment, through raising awareness, assimilating environmental values, facilitating actions and identifying and meeting special needs of teachers and pedagogical supervisors. It acts a venue for presenting the works of teachers, students and professionals contributing to green energy technological applications and developments in Israel, Furthermore, a special effort, initiated by the Israeli Ministry of Education and the Ministry of environmental defense, was made in order to take steps to reduce energy consumption at schools, thus enabling them to join the green schools project.
This conference’s activities will include:
• Conveying energy issues in its various aspects: Scientific, technological’ social and financial • Various demonstrations, combining lab experiments on green energy and environment • Performing a variety of workshops, to be implemented further at schools • Seeking ways of improving of green energy teaching methods effectiveness, through integrating various projects: recycling, setting a compost machine and producing solar/hydro/waste energy
Energy for Life
Over 120 teachers and pedagogical staff from all across Israelhave participated in the conference held at Madatech on 15 and 16 of October. It was a first of a series of conferences, its sequel will be held on Hanukkah. Its objective is promoting community awareness for green energy, educating for environmental care, and enhancing the use of uncontaminated renewable energy sources.
A Change for Life

Our Lives are in Our Hands
Conference activities included:
• a lecture by Ms. Meri-li Herrigan on the Green Schools Program in the U.S.A
• an overview of sustainability education at schools by Dr. Perry Lev On Various demonstrations and workshops on Green energy and environment.
• how to build a solar car
• chemical water checkups and purification
• improving effectiveness of green energy teaching methods, through various projects integration: recycling, setting a composter and producing solar/hydro/waste energy
• discussing students’ projects and green curricula
• an organized competition between industrial factories and schools for their contribution to a green environment.
