Science, Policymakers and Society
 MadaTech has joined PLACES, a multi-year European venture, of 69 cities in 27 countries. Sponsored by ECSITE, the European Network of Science Centers and Museums, the project aims to enhance an exchange between science, policymakers and society, through a host of seminars and workshops; to have municipalities promote science; and to show citizens how they can affect science-related decisions on environmental sustainability, healthcare, biodiversity and clean energy policies--topics inextricably linking science to society.
MadaTech activities will include seminars, citywide workshops and other forums, where citizens can learn how to target key challenges in cities, based on scientific problem-solving. The project is in collaboration with the Municipality of Haifa, the Technion and its Grand Water Research Institute, as well as Unilever's Prolog Company.
