A Tradition of Science and Fun
On Thursday, September 22nd, 2011, Madatech's Doors were open for a night of exciting science exploration.
This was the sixth year that Researchers' Night events were held in museums, academic institutions and science centers across Israel and all around European cities. The Israeli events are sponsored by the EU, in association with the Israeli Ministry of Science and Technology.
Visitors benefited from the exceptional opportunity to peer into the depths of scientific and technological research, within the context of fascinating encounters with researchers and fun scientific activities for the whole family.
This year the events in the Haifa area took place simultaneously in four central points: Madatech, The Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, Haifa University and Shamaim Park in Kiryat Yam, as part of a scientific collaboration between these institutions.
Events included:
Science on Stage– Exciting lectures on the social relevance of chemistry, nutrition and sports in everyday life – survival chemistry, chemical communication among insects and innovative medications to cure cancer!
Meeting Researchers for Coffee Madatech embraces activities that contribute to a better understanding between scientists and the general public. The audience gets the chance to meet and exchange ideas with top researchers in a relaxed atmosphere at Madatech's all new Greg Café. On a cup of coffee, visitors can discuss and understand researchers’ work and scientific procedures.
Researchers' Night Record As part of Madatech's initiation, people of all ages in various centers have tried to set a new Guinness World Record in a unique crystals simultaneous experiment.
Lab Science Madatech’s staff presented fascinating scientific demonstrations and simulations at Madatech Education Center laboratories.
Sports Science On Reserchers' Night, Madatech's international exhibitions Sports Science, was open to the public for free.
