Madatech Recruited for Mount Carmel Evacuated Families
The worst wildfire in Israel’s history broke out Thursday, Dec, 2nd and devoured ten thousand acres of forest. The flames, fueled by high, shifting winds, have forced the evacuations of about 17,000 people from towns near Haifa, threatening lives, homes, businesses, tourism and one of Israel's greenest regions, Mount Carmel. Dozens of people lost their houses, personal belongings and memories to the flames.
As an act of deep sympathy with the evacuated families, Madatech opened its gates for free, for those who lost their possessions in the great fire. This gesture was an attempt to set these unfortunate people's minds off the tragic situation and provide them with a day of fun at the museum. In addition, Madatech's Mobile Lab went on a mission to Kibbutz Nahsholim, to entertain the evacuated children from the Carmel area with fascinating and amusing scientific demonstrations.
