Dr. Ronene Mir appointed member of ASTC's executive committee
Madatech is a member of the international Association of Science-Technology Centers, ASTC. Madatech's board of directors, led by the chairman, Mr. Leon Recanati has recently returned from ASTC's annual conference at Honolulu, Hawaii.
 This year, ASTC announced the designation of Dr. Ronen Mir, Madatech's C.E.O, as an official member of the executive committee. Dr. Mir, a Physicist and science educator, has served as C.E.O of Madatech, Israel's National Museum of Science and Technology, for the last four years. Dr. Mir's extensive experience in conducting science museums in Israel and the U.S.A, as well as his skills for initiating international networking opportunities has contributed greatly to his appointment.
ASTC incorporates more than 600 science, technology and nature museums worldwide. It encourages inventiveness and innovation in informal science learning by serving and linking its members worldwide and advancing their common goals.
In the past few years, Mr. Leon Recanati, Madatech's chairman, has led a novel strategic process; Madatech introduced the Israeli audience with leading international exhibitions: Dinosaurs of Patagonia, Body Worlds and currently, The Robotic World. In addtioin, Madatech's has expanded its premises, added exhibition halls and study classes and tripled it annual number of visitors to over 500,000.
Dr. Mir's membership in the international association's management is a vote of confidence and appreciation of Madatech's success and it reinforces Madatech's status as a leading science and technology museum, abiding by international standards.
