The 2010 Robotics OlimpYeda
 Introducing: Science. The OlimpYeda is Madatech's leading educational venture, an annual science and technology knowledge contest for 8th-9th grade students from all sectors across Israel. The olimpYeda is a national project of 22 years. Its objective is, in accordance to Madatech's goals, to draw youth to science and technology, encourage them to study and engage in these fields and search, locate and foster the gifted and talented ones in the field.
A Robotic Challenge Every year the OlimpYeda is dedicated to a different theme. This year it is The Robotic World, Scientific and Humanitarian Challenges. Activities include participating in extensive activity at Madatech's and the Technion's state of the art laboratories; listening to experts in the industrial and academic field lecturing; constructing modesls as part of the RoboWaiter Project; meeting with scientist and touring the northern plant of Iscar; visiting The Robotic World, the fascinating hands on exhibition at Madatech this summer, as part of the international roborics year celebration. In addition, each participant to the OlimpYeda prepares a lecture related to the main theme and presents it to the group of contestors.
The OlimpYeda's steering committee consists of Prof. Igor Werner from the Technion, Ms. Rivi Lacriz, Science and Technology Administration of the Ministry of Education, Dr. Ronen Mir, Madatech's C.E.O and Ms. Irit Werthaim, head of Madatech's Visitors and Education Department. . 
A Key to Success The project's coordinator, Ms. Yona Klein, has developed over the years a close relationship with parents, children and science coordinators at schools across Israel. During the previous school year, tousands of 8th and 9th graders from all sectors in Israel went through designated exams through several stages. 30 students, excelling in the field of robotics were chosen to take part in this year's summer camp, the highlight of the OlimpYeda. The group consists of 8 children from the Arab society, 7 girls and 2 Yeshiva scholars.
Reach Far The final OlimpYedal stage will be a TV Quiz, will host only the top 8 students of the summer camp finals. First places winners of the final stage will be granted with a Technion scholarship.
