Girls in Science and Technology Conference of 2010
Madatech is proud to host the Girls in Science and Technology conference of 2010 on Tuesday, March 09th, from 3pm to 7pm
The conference is a part of a constitutional program operated by The Science and Technology Administration, in assocaition with The Ministry of Education Gender Equalirty Unit.
Its objective is introducing girls to the attractive, interesting side of scientific professions, encouraging them to beat the challenge and increase their self esteem and belief of their success, and amplifying the amount of girls choosing science and technology studies.

On the personal level, choosing to major science and engineering studies in highschool can open a wide range of opportunities and abilities for developing future successful career in the Hi-tech and sciences industry, with an emphasis on physics, computers, electricity and electronics, software engineering and mechanical engineering studies.
Their visit to madatech, as part of the program, exposes them to unique issues such as physics and music, practals and robotics, or to unique teaching methods of science and technology. |
The conference will include lectures and a leading women panel on:
What do girls want? Do they have the courage to get there?
Why do only few young talented girls choose science and engineering studies?
The panel will host
Prof. Hagit Messer-Yaron (electric engineer), the Open University president.
Prof. Mina Taicher (mathematician) – fromer Bar Ilan Uni vice president and Israel Ministry of Science leading scientist.
Dr. ryth Kaufmann (Psychologist) – expert therapist and researcher in constructing thinking and learning abilities.
Dr. Naama Gazit-Ya'ari (Physician) – Madatech's scientific content coordinator and Israel's Un representator as radiation supervisor.
Further, the girls will meet leading women in in the academy and industry of science and technology. These women will present their reserarch and tell their personal story. Together, they will build scientific models, according to pre-defined criteria that will be on display at the end of the conference.
Mr. Yona Yahav, Haifa's mayor and Mr. Leon Reccanati will honor the conference in their presence.
