June-July,2008: Make a World of Difference
Madatech brings together young people from all over the world with similar interests and aims to promote international exploration of science.
The Best of Both Worlds
The third annual Barak Seminar held at Madatech, is a program for youth aged 16-17, from the Jewish community in Mexico, and for the first time this year also from Colombia. This year the program has hosted 80 students from 7 Jewish high schools.
Meet Your Match
The seminar aims to maintain and expand students’ interest in major scientific issues and technological innovations. In the seminar, students are encouraged to effectively engage in broad arrays of science and technology, by introducing them to the most remarkable aspects of national and global scientific opportunities and researches. Throughout the seminar, students are given an insight into academic opportunities in Israel and are inspired to look into a future career in the field. In addition to its scientific contribution, the seminar’s greatest asset to students attending it, is defining the relationships between Jewish youth from across the world and reinforcing the Jewish bond.
A World of Good

This year’s seminar engaged in:
• Lab experiments at Madtaech in life sciences: determining blood types, identification and Forensic Science, pharmacy-genetics, diabetes and heart health. • Aviation – a lecture on aviation principles, gilders’ building and hot air balloons flights • Astrophysics and space – lectures and rocket activities • Educational visits to the different Technion faculties • Group fun activities in the Technion’s swimming pool • An overall picture of the Technion’s studies, through meeting with students and the preparatory program representative.
